How To Make Sure Your Intentions For This Year Come To Pass
Every new year I start a new journal. I set intentions in it, write some beautiful words, and somewhere around two months in, life moves on and the journal sits idly on my end table night after night. Last year for the first time I even made a vision board. I did revisit that often, and focused on what I wanted to be true, but I couldn't figure out how to keep it top of mind with all I had going on. This all changed in December (2016) while having a conversation with a girlfriend who is already in her Third Decade.
She and I were talking about what we wanted to be true of our lives in 2017, and as she shared her process, she nonchalantly mentioned how she intends to have _____ complete by the first quarter of the year. In the same way we plan for work (even those of you who hate what you do every day), we can organize our thoughts and energy to accomplish bite-sized goals for our personal development. This weekend marks the end of the first quarter of the year. Are you a fourth of the way into your path toward whatever it is you want for the person you'll be on December 31st of this year? If not, then it's the perfect time to shift.
What do you need to do between now and June to get on your way to your definition of success? How will you know it's working?
